How to install

    Download

    Tap the Download button on your phone. The file is about the size of a photo album.

    Open the file

    When it finishes, tap Open. If Android asks, allow your browser to install apps.

  3. 3

    Install anyway

    Google Play Protect may say it doesn't know the developer. Tap More details, then Install anyway. This is normal for apps outside the Play Store.

    Sign in

    Open UstaadSearch and sign in with your existing account, or create one.

Questions

Is it safe?

Yes. The app is built and signed by UstaadSearch and does exactly what the website does. You can check that your download is genuine by comparing its SHA-256 fingerprint with the one on this page.

Is it free?

Yes. Like the website, the app is free for teachers and institutions.

Will it update itself?

Small improvements arrive automatically the next time you open the app. For bigger updates we'll ask you to download the latest file again.

What about iPhone?

An iPhone version isn't available yet. You can use ustaadsearch.com in your browser and add it to your home screen.

Which Android versions work?

Android 8 or newer, which covers almost every phone in use today.

Use the same account on the app and the website.

Allow notifications to hear from schools and teachers straight away.
